Lucky Break or Mystical Interlude?
February 19, 2025
It’s my belief that every human has mystical interludes, especially coincidence. Unfortunately, most people don’t consider coincidence a mystical event. Why? Because coincidences seem so ordinary. They are frequently referred to as “just a coincidence.” Also, many of us have been programmed to reject (and might even fear) anything that might be extraordinary or “woo woo.” In his book, The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire, Deepak Chopra, renowned spiritual leader and scientist says, “A coincidence is a clue to the intention of the universal spirit, and as such, it is rich with significance.”
Personally speaking, I can attest to the fact that coincidence is every bit as mystical as an NDE (Near Death Experience). The reason is that they share the same attributes. Both are unexpected, unplanned, unexplainable, and both can lead to a personal transformation of some kind.
The more we recognize and appreciate coincidences, no matter how seemingly insignificant, the more they seem to occur, and the more they have to teach us. By overlooking, dismissing or suppressing them, we close ourselves to expanding our awareness of who we truly are.
Here is an overlooked coincidence that I witnessed. Before laptops became more popular than the larger, stand-alone computers for personal and business use, my husband bought large outdated Apple computers with flawless cases, updated their hard-drives, and sold them on Ebay. One that he sold was returned because the case had been damaged during shipping. I stood beside him in our garage as he unpacked it. One of the metal supports at each end which were shaped like handles was badly dented and twisted.

It was made of that aluminum type metal that distinguishes Apple products from others. Jim groaned, “I put more hours than usual into this machine, and invested more than I should have to upgrade it. This is a huge loss of my time and money.”
“Maybe the stand can be straightened,” I said.
“No way,” he said, “this Apple metal is non-pliable. Any attempt would leave ugly marks.”
At that moment, our neighbor appeared in the open doorway of our garage. “What’s up?” Dave asked with his usual friendly smile.
Jim showed him the damage and lamented his loss.
“I can fix that,” Dave said.
Jim said it couldn’t be done. He and Dave went back and forth briefly, and Dave convinced Jim to let him take the damaged computer overnight.
The next day Dave returned with a perfectly repaired computer stand. Jim was utterly amazed! He later sold it for the original fee.
Afterwards, I said, “Jim, are you aware that you experienced a mystical interlude?”
“Nah,” he replied. “Dave just happened to show up to shoot the breeze.”
I couldn’t resist. “Jim, if your experience had been written as a fairytale, Dave would have been your fairy godmother who appeared with her magic wand and saved the day!”
Then I asked him to realize that his experience was real, to embrace it as a gift, express gratitude for it, and integrate It with his concept of reality. It’s taken a while, but he gets it now.
What about you? What mystical interludes have you missed in your life?

So many occurrences like this are chalked up to coincidence or luck, so glad Jim caught on with your help. The more we recognize and express gratitude for the people, events and activities that show up unexpectedly and right on time, the more they occur. May Jim and all of us have more Mystical Interludes in our lives. Blessings!
